Another crazy day!

We left Lucerne, Switzerland this morning for Venice Italy. It was a long drive, but we got into a big traffic jam where there were no vehicles moving through a tunnel in Switzerland. So...we left this morning at 7:15, and got to Venice at 4:15! Anyway, Venice did not disappoint. Venice is actually over 100 islands, and all the buildings are on wooden stilts. The oldest buildings are over 1000 years old! It is also breathtaking, but extremely crowded. 5 large cruise boats were in the port when we were there, so it meant that there were 1000s of people walking around ( which isn't that out of the ordinary). It was another hot, sunny, sticky day, but better than the alternative!.
As we entered the city by boat taxi.
One of 1000 canals
The Rialto bridge
There were 1000s of these gondolas around.
We took a gondola ride, complete with an opera singer and accordion player!
Our Italian opera singer!
Venice is spectacular, and so huge!!!! There seem to 100s of different canals. Apparently there are 400 bridges. In essence, it is still much the same it was 100s of years ago. I have so many photos! Tomorrow, we are off to Rome!
