On to Florence

This morning we arrived in Florence just before noon. It is another scorcher, supposedly 38 degrees. We all agreed, it felt a bit better than yesterday! We were registered to go to see the museum where David by Michelangelo is held. There was a mixup and we were unable to go. That was OK there's a perfect replica and one of the town squares anyway. We were given a city tour. There is lots of history here as well. Lots of big beautiful churches. Even the medieval castle. We saw the house where da Vinci lived as well as the house with Michaelangelo lived for a while. The city was busy. There were lots of people and lots of warning of pickpockets and gypsies. We had the opportunity to do a little bit of shopping, which was OK. Florence is famous for gold and silver as well as leather.
This church was magnificent it took 100 years to build it, one of the latest in the world.

Michaelangelo is buried beneath this church.
Replica of Michaelangelos statue of David.
A medieval castle.
The man who wrote Pinocchio was born in Florece, so there was a bit of paraphernalia around.
As customary, Tim enjoyed a brewsky from Florence as we people watched!
