Slight change of plans

This morning began at 5:45, and we left our London hotel by 6:30. Instead of a ferry crossing and seeing the White Cliffs of Dover (we were so looking forward to it), we caught the Eurostar (Europe train) out of London, under the Channel, into Lille, France and then onto Brussels Belguim.
Our first view of France...looks like the fields at home! Slightly less impressive than the White Cliffs of Dover!
We visited the Atomium in Brussels. Apparently, it is a LARGE model of an iron atom.
This is Belguim's Royal Church.
The Royal palace.
The Royal household.

The downtown square of Brussels is full of beautiful, old buildings.
What to do in Brussels? .....
Belguim Beer.....
Belguim chocolate.....
And Belguim waffles of course! We both had to change our shirts after devouring this treat, as we each had slopped chocolates on ourselves. I laughed like hell😂
Brussels is famous for a statue called the Mannekin Pis. It is an incredibly small, underwhelming, yet famous statue. Maybe you'll recognize it!
